Visa Denial

To be considered for a refund due to a visa denial, please contact the International Office by e-mail before the start of the term or offering of registration with a copy of the visa denial letter issued by a Canadian Embassy or Consulate for that specific term or offering. A refund of tuition and fees will be assessed minus a $500 administration fee and a $50 wire transfer fee which is charged by our bank for the wire transfer refund.

Alternatively, the registration may be deferred to the next available offering; only one deferral will be allowed. Requests received after the start of a term or offering due to visa denial will be assessed a refund according to the date of withdrawal and subject to Upper Highland College’s regular Refund Policy. A copy of the visa denial letter issued by a Canadian Embassy or Consulate for that specific term or offer must be presented. Please note that any deferral student is not entitled to withdrawal/refund upon arrival.

It is the responsibility of the student to contact the International Office before the start of the term or offering of registration if there is a delay in obtaining a study permit. Students who begin their studies at Upper Highland College without a valid study permit will be removed from classes and will be assessed a refund according to their date of withdrawal. A copy of the visa denial letter issued by a Canadian Embassy or Consulate for the specific term or offer is required at all times.

Requests made without proof of visa denial will be assessed under the regular terms according to their date of cancellation or withdrawal.

If for any reason an international student is unable to attend Upper Highland College for their scheduled program, they must contact the International Office by e-mail at admissions@uhcollege.ca before the start of the term or offering of registration explaining why they cannot attend.

Once this email is received a refund of tuition and fees will be assessed minus a $500 administration fee and a $50 wire transfer fee which is charged by our bank for the wire transfer refund.
